Having a hard time figuring out what to buy that special someone for Christmas?
Tired of giving the same old gift?
Tired of holiday shopping?
Tired of wondering if you have chosen the right gift or whether or not the recipient appreciates the gift?
Has the gift of giving become less meaningful over the years?
Ever wondered if there is another way to give a gift and know for sure it will change someone’s life?

Well with Kiva, you can and will know the changes your gift has made in someone else’s life.
Check it out…..

Kiva - loans that change lives

The concept is simple really…. You decide how much you want to lend and you then pick the business you want to lend it to. You lend them the money, they pay you back, you can then re-lend someone else the money or cash out.
But the payoff is huge…. why? Because you actually see where you money has made a difference in someone else’s life, someone usually in a different country, (probably third world) who without the organization would not otherwise get a loan.

Kiva is a 501 non-profit organization that allows lenders to facilitate loans to borrowers all over the world. By choosing a business on, each lender can sponsor a business to someone of the working poor that will allow them to make strides to becoming self-sufficient through economic independence. Usually the loan varies in length (6 to 12 months) and even varies in the amount. It can be as little as $25 dollars or in multiple amounts up to $5000. It is not as hard as one may seem, but it does involve a PayPal account using a credit card. Once that is set up…. giving is really easy.

Don’t get me wrong here, there are definitely risks involved and spells them out clearly… but for as little as $25, or five Mocha Café Lattés from your favourite coffee shop, one-time lending has never been easier, especially to someone in another country where you can help to change the life of someone less fortunate than you…. nice eh? 😉

So check out, put your hard earned money to much appreciation, purchase some gift certificates for family and friends and let them choose who gets the loan while helping to change some ones life….
Who knows, the change in some ones life could turn out to be yours!
