Fun, Hmmmmmm

So Very Cool.

This is a picture of a Fire Rainbow, the rarest of all naturally occurring atmospheric phenomena and if you ask me the coolest looking rainbow effect you will see this side of the Northern Lights .

It was said this picture was taken on the Idaho – Washington border and the event lasted about one hour. I can’t confirm this, but it is pretty awesome to see. Apparently the clouds have to be Cirrus clouds, about 20,000 feet above the earth, contain just the right amount of Ice Crystals, all this while the sun hits these clouds at precisely 58 Degrees.

Fire Ranbow

These are different than the normal rounded rainbows one usually sees in the skies and that makes them so cool. They actually look like someone has stretched them horizontally when in fact all the ice crystals have aligned themselves horizontally. Nice eh?

Enjoy…. Till Next Time…. Tags: , ,
