2 Days to a Healthier You

Here are some weekend tips to look healthy in just two days:

1) Do nothing: So with buy schedules, kids and household chores, this may be hard for some of us, but I am not talking the whole day, just say 20 minutes to do absolutely nothing except feel. Feel your rhythms, relax and enjoy the fact that for the next twenty minutes, you have absolutely nothing to do.

2) Take a walk: After dinner go for a long walk. Around the block, through your neighbourhood or through a park. Notice the nature around you and enjoy it’s sights and sounds. This is not a power walk but a comfortably paced walk that let’s you take it all in.



3) Get a message: If you can, get a message on a weekend. For the inexpensive kind, go to a message school and hire a student. This way, you get the benefit of the relaxing message while the student applies the knowledge of the trade. If you can, splurge for two messages in a month, around the same time of day and on the same day each time (say Saturdays at noon). This way your body gets used to the rhythm and comes to anticipate the good feelings a message brings.

4) Take care of your hair: We all know the affects of winter, sun, sea, heat and chemicals can have on your hair, even gels and sprays can cause damage. So take the time to take care of your hair. On the weekend, apply a hair lotion made of healing herbs, followed by healing essential oils. Message the lotion into the hair and scalp followed by a brush through with natural bristles. Once done, apply about one tablespoon of essential oils that contain extracts such as neem, wheat germ oil, chamomile, and rosemary messaging them through the hair. Wash, rinse and condition as usual. You may need to wash twice to remove any oily residue.

These tips are not hard, but they will yield great results. You can take your time on a weekend and do all or just one of these, but whatever you choose to do, your body, mind and soul will thank you for it. Cheers….
