Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to youuuu,
Happy Birth-day dear Toronto,
Happy Birthday to youuuuuuu
!

Wow… 175 years young!
Not old in comparrison to the rest of the world but young just the same. Toronto is truly a young’en.

So the celebrations are on, with many things happening in and around Toronto. My advice, take in a few of them by seeing what’s going on on the city’s website.

Sorry for keeping it short, but I am completely internet challenged these days. I’ll be back soon enough with more goodies, I promise.

Till Next Time…..

What’s On This Weekend?

Posted by gottabkd on Friday, October 3, 2008

Well glad you asked…

The Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche is happening in the downtown core of Toronto. Starting October 4th, 2008 at 6:52 pm and running all night long to sunrise, Nuit Blanche is contemporary art for the people.
From the site:

For one sleepless night, experience Toronto transformed by artists.
Discover art in galleries, museums and unexpected places. From bridges and tunnels to warehouses and stadiums, choose from more than 155 destinations and chart your own path.
It’s impossible to see everything in 12 short hours! Check out the 2008 Programme details and make note of your favourites, then visit the Plan Ahead section of the website for useful tools to create your own art-after-dark adventure.

Cool eh? So what else do you have to do all night long on a Saturday night? Even if you are a clubber you could still take in this artful night and visit one of the exhibits afterwards.

The Markham Fair is happening October 2,3,4, and 5. That’s this weekend folks. It’s your typical agricultural fair that includes monster trucks, pies, jams, Dora the Explorer, pumpkins, Reptilia, motorcross, a demolition derby, and fabulous foods.

From the site:

Markham Fair is Canada’s largest 4-day fall fair with many entertaining and educational events for all ages. It is always held on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Help us keep our annual tradition going, bring your family and friends and enjoy our “rural heritage”.
Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. (map)

So why not take in the adventure and get all your fall fabulousness at the same time.
