I Must Admit…

I must admit, it’s been a while. All I can say to that is… it may be a while more.

You see life at times gets funny and not always funny in a hahahaha kinda way.
My life has been just plain strange for far to long that there are days when I am not quite sure what is really going on.
Sometimes it’s the computer gremlins that prevent me from having my time on line, while at other times, it’s the gremlins of life that keep me away.

Suffice it to say, that I do hope to be back here soon, bringing you all the good stuff you like to read.

The Day You Were Born.

Ever wondered what went on in the world on the exact day you were born?

No, really? Like you know already, right?

Face it, you were to young to remember or even have knowledge of what happened that day except the fact that your parents were probably very excited about it all, unless they were like mine and gave me away to someone else, then you probably have no real recollections of anything happening that particular day… the day you graced the Earth… the day you came into the family… um ya, whatever.

OK so even though you have no recollection of anything before, say oh, age 5, Paul Sadowski and his Birthday Calender actually do.. have some very interesting facts about the day you were born.

Go ahead… you know you want to know… go check out the Birthday Calender and find out for yourself that there was probably no Twitter, no Facebook, no cellphones and horrors of horrors, no colour TV around on the day you were born. (of course I am tooo young for that one)

Ugggh!

Being internet challenged has not been much fun for me. I feel like I have been gone a million years    and yet, I feel like my issues just started yesterday.
*sighs heavily*

Even though I do have some access back, it is very limited and not my own which makes blogging rather difficult.

Imagine to my dismay when I could not access my Fraccy friends’ site to get my daily humour all due to her really bad language and porn,  or my very own site to check on you all. Not even daily access to my email… uuuuuugggghhhhh!
Yes I miss you terribly and hope to be “more connected” really soon.

So, till that happens, it’s short and sweat and not often. Sorry!

15 Things to do With Coffee Filters.

COFFEE FILTERS: Not just for making coffee anymore and only $1 for 300/pkg @ Dollarama, they are an inexpensive substitution for paper towels and napkins.

Here are 15 useful tips for utilizing the coffee filter.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they’ll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect China ….Separate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish.

4. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale. Keeps the scales clean and prevents cross contamination.

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping onto your hands. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter and slide the stick end through the holes.

12. Do you use expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters instead.

13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all the grease.

14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great “razor nick fixers.”

15. Make a good ‘ol pot of coffee.
